Every year, Wagga Rotary supports the 'Read to Me' program. This program targets the literacy of Kooringal Public School kindergarten children and their families.
The program holds a twice-weekly playgroup for parents and their children where the mobile library visits and there is a focus on literacy through play.

Once a year, our Club donates a picture dictionary, a storybook and a polo shirt that proclaims 'READ TO ME' to every kindergarten child to take home. Hopefully the shirt will remind parents how important it is to read to children every day. Our members have a very enjoyable time reading to the children.

Don, Philip, Neil, John and Graeme get ready to hand out books!
The children are dressed in their t shirts and are ready to read.

Acting Principal Russell Peck helps distribute books. The noise level increased!

Hooray!

Not by the hair of my chinney chin chin! Neil and friends.
John and boys pose for a photo op with Liam, the school photographer. Gather around children!
Philip's group is fascinated by the story. ABC radio and WIN news joined us.

Our Club sold cook books to raise money to buy dictionaries for children in Year 3. These dictionaries were distributed to children at Kooringal Public School and Wagga Public School.
