Read To Me

Read to Me is a literacy project we are very passionate about!

We partner with the STEPS program auspiced by TAFE and the Department of Community Services (DOCS) to help increase literacy in a local kindergarten that has been classified as a disadvantaged school because of the low levels of literacy in the area.

We provide the funding to purchase books for the kindy children to take home. And we also buy them a t-shirt with a very important message for mums and dads - Read To Me!

It is our hope that this will remind families that reading to children at home should happen every day, because without literacy the road ahead will be tough for them.

This year we involved families to try and spread the message. We held our presentation on Grandparents Day so that lots of mums, dads and grandparents learned about the importance of reading.
